Glancing Back

This week we celebrate our second birthday.

It also happens to be the week of our 100th recorded match across scrims, matches, and all the different games we've played. You can check out more stats here.

Glancing back, I still remember when Meek and myself started out in Halo, and we were accused of hacking right near the start ;p. Some milestones along the way were moving from Halo to the CoD kosmos. In Halo 1, the pistol is the ultimate weapon. And I remember the first few times I was playing CoD, I was trying to snipe people across the map with the german pistol on Railyard.

We had a few hitches along the way, but we kept moving forward. In 2007 we took a huge dip, and I quit for a bit to focus on school. But when CoD4 came out, we took the plunge again. This time it was p1tty helping out, and together we put together a great team. We were doing far better than I expected (especially playing on a 6600gt tablet pc), and we had a great potential to be a solid team with the additions of h4lt, RooP, TaE, Knight and seraphix. There are many highlights of the season. The best match we had so far I'd say was against NeXus (Who won the recent Nerv Lan) during CAL Pre-Season on Overgrown, where we had a reasonable chance of winning, but lost 11-13. We were able to come out with a few videos, which I thought was fun.

We had to rebuild however over the last few weeks, after our starters left. We've got a few good pickups for this season - I'll keep you updated.

I still remember the discipleship group we had going in Fall of 2006. Natasia, Jane and Crzy were the most regular attendees, but it was a lot of fun. Can you believe that we had prayer meetings every day in the Fall of 2006? That's true, everyday. We'll be starting prayer meetings again soon, and possibly a discipleship time for gamers. To cap it all off we had a special event for Christmas, which you can still check out in the Media section.

Another thing we did is adopt the #jesus channel and support it as a team. We have regular spiritual discussions there. We now have a regular 30 idlers, and I'm going to be praying for 60. Idle #jesus if you use irc! Or drop by using the link under community on the site.

Feel free to leave greetings, suggestions for the future, things to do, not to do, etc. in the comments.

Thank you so much for being part of the team.
Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while,
"He who is coming will come and will not delay.
But my righteous one will live by faith.
And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him."

But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
(Hebrews 10:32-39)
